As a coating machine operator, you will set up, operate, and tend specialized coating machinery that applies protective and decorative layers to metal products. You will work with coating substances such as lacquer, enamel, copper, nickel, zinc, cadmium, and chromium to enhance metal surfaces and protect them from corrosion and wear. Your responsibilities include managing multiple coater stations, ensuring consistent quality throughout the coating process, monitoring the flow of workpieces through the machines, and maintaining all equipment in optimal working condition.
Your daily tasks include loading uncoated metal products into the coating machines, monitoring the coating application process, removing inadequate or defective workpieces before they proceed further, and unloading processed items. You will track coating parameters such as thickness, consistency, and coverage to ensure products meet established quality standards. You will wear appropriate personal protective equipment throughout your shift to protect yourself from chemical exposure and other workplace hazards. Your attention to detail and ability to catch and correct problems quickly are essential to maintaining production efficiency and product quality.
