Key Work Functions

3D Modeling and Character Creation
- Create 3D characters and objects from sketches and artistic concepts using 3D modeling software
- Design detailed geometric structures that form the basis for animation and visual effects
- Rig 3D characters by creating skeletal structures that allow for realistic movement and deformation
Texturing and Lighting
- Apply 3D texturing techniques to create realistic surface properties, colors, and material characteristics
- Set up 3D lighting to enhance mood, depth, and visual appeal of scenes
- Render 3D images and animations with appropriate quality settings and technical specifications
Animation and Motion
- Animate 3D organic forms such as characters with realistic, expressive movement and gestures
- Create smooth transitions and fluid motion paths that follow principles of animation physics
- Synchronize animations with audio, dialogue, and timing requirements for film or interactive media
Environment and Virtual World Creation
- Create 3D environments including landscapes, buildings, and detailed background elements
- Apply augmented reality and emerging visualization technologies to interactive projects
- Integrate 3D environments with computer graphics effects and interactive elements
Collaboration and Feedback
- Discuss artwork and creative concepts with directors, designers, and other team members
